WRKO 1/31/05 5:20 PM
Mon, 31 Jan 2005 14:38:42 -0800 (PST)
From:
"Media Microscope"http://www.radio-info.com/mods/board?Post=345517&Board=boston
Howie Carr just made what he called his "decree", his
"mandate" (his word), no gay messages on the chumpline prior to the
Superbowl.
This was in response to JayX (yers truly) bringing up
the Mike Vrabel incident
(See, Boston Globe, Saturday, January 29th, Page D6 -
Nick Cafardo)
Eagles linebacker Ike Reese said in a Sports
Illustrated article "...we were all down there
scrambling for it. Mike Vrabel had my (deleted on
advice of counsel) ... in his hand, and he was
squeezing them."
===================================================
Here's the SPORTS ILLUSTRATED article
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/players/01/25/pile0131/index.html
IKE REESE, Eagles Linebacker
"When we played the Patriots last year [Eagles running back] Brian Westbrook fumbled a punt, and we were all down there scrambling for it. [Patriots linebacker] Mike Vrabel had my testicles in his hand, and he was squeezing them. Where the football ends up depends on who has the strongest will or the strongest hands. Guys reach inside the face mask to gouge your eyes. But the biggest thing is the grabbing of the testicles. It is crazy."
MARCO RIVERA, Packers Guard
"I've had guys go for the privates, guys try to put their elbow in my neck, guys reaching inside my helmet. It's really violent down there, trying to get that ball. It's dangerous. In my third year at Penn State, there was a fumble in the end zone. I dived for it with my arms outstretched, and five guys landed on me. Blew out my shoulder. I had to have surgery. That was the closest I've come to scoring a touchdown."

Boston Phoenix Letter 1/20/05

COMPETITIVE VOID
Dan Kennedy’s look at Mike Barnicle’s troubles at the Boston Herald ["Don’t Quote Me," News and Features, January 7] is sadly amusing, but doesn’t state the obvious — that the "stealth bomber," Howie Carr, is no doubt capitalizing on Barnicle’s lazy writing habits and twisting the knife in the latter’s back. Not that there’s any sympathy here for Barnicle; both "writers" are different ends of the same stick.
Critics have complained that Carr, like Barnicle, is "mailing it in," using his "Chump Line" from the WRKO show as well as information from callers and faxers to develop his "column," and not putting in the elbow grease he did when the paper was his main focus. But territorial creature that he is, Carr is likely incensed that Barnicle was able to get into publisher Pat Purcell’s good graces and hop onboard. If there’s going to be a big-name lazy writer at the Herald, it is going to be Howie, and he will hold on to his turf like a pit bull on steroids.
Not only is Mike Barnicle not giving his second chance a second thought, the Herald itself is on life support and doesn’t seem to know what to do. That’s a pity, because every city needs at least two real dailies (Metro, now part of the Globe, is not viewed as competition).
Maybe the Boston Phoenix can come up with a daily edition? The void is definitely getting wider.

The Mad Faxer on WRKO
Howie Carr Show on or around January 6th, 2005 5:05 PM Listener call-in line
RE: WILLIAM KENNEDY SMITH
"William Kennedy Smith will be filing suit against Howie Carr for defamation of Character.
Mr. Smith will See You In Court, Mr. Carr" Paraphrased - didn't get to the air check tape in time! http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/08/26/national/main638577.shtml
Ho Ho Ho - Moe Lauzier aired THE MAD FAXER on December 24, 2004 on the Telephone line,
5:10 PM "KEEP DONALD RUMSFELD IN IRAQ~ MAKE HIM PRESIDEnT OF IRAQ"
Howie Carr aired Mad Faxer earlier in the week, probably December 21 or 22 with a quip about
Howie being a moron because he voted for Bush and the Washington State election has proven that Republicans steal votes!

Jay X: So Howie Carr wants Scott Peterson to have a Swift Death. Does that mean he wants former Governor Jane to sit on him? That would be cruel and unusual punishment. Howie Carr: But appropriate. And it would be swift.

This was broadcast about 2 weeks ago Jay X: I saw your staff on the Channel 7 news last night; didn't realize you were broadcasting (the Howie Carr Show) from the Lawrence Fire Station... Howie Carr: (makes snorting sounds) TAPE CAPTURES NIGHT OF PARTY AT FIREHOUSE ( Boston Globe Archives, 2004-11-30 ) On the surveillance videotape, a Lawrence firefighter and dispatcher wander between the radio room and kitchen of the fire dispatch center during an overnight shift, drinking bottle after bottle of beer and repeatedly snorting a substance that a city official said appears to be cocaine.

Howie Carr Uses Other People's Information Without Crediting Source a la Mike Barnicle
Date: Wed, 12 May 2004 08:43:49 -0700 (PDT)
From: "In Sanious"
Subject: Howie Carr Reads Our Emails Fwd: Halliburton Harvesting Organs of Dead Soldiers and Dead Iraqis?
Anyone hear Howie Carr mention the harvesting of Iraqi
organs yesterday?
Glad to see he is reading these e mails; maybe someday
he will quit his Mike Barnicle ways and start
crediting his sources!

This is how they make money off the war immediately
and no one has ever talked about it. (A rock star who
cannot be named).
They can probably take it to any country they want, so
if there is socialized medicine, there's Halliburton.
What is the waiting list?
How many people do we actually lose here in America
because people in America don't have the "cash ready"
situation?
Check out google.com

Organ Cash & Carry = Cheney OC&C= Cheney
This administration is lying as quick as they can.
They are trying to do all they can to turn John F.
Kerry's name to smut.
Remember the Mad Magazine picture of Lyndon Johnson
with the caption: "War is good business. Invest your
son." Dick Cheney has taken it to an entirely new
level. Your son is worth more money dead than alive.
Soylent Green? Halliburton doesn't feel guilty, hell,
they recycle their own employees? "Even death cannot
free these poor people" says the rock star on the
phone "As a matter of fact they cost $ . per pound
-".

In an e-mail to journalist John
Kaminski, author of The Day America Died (Sisyphus
Press) and
America’s Autopsy Report
(Dandelion Books),
Add to this. BLOG this. This is what the Bush
Administration is probably up to. Why else do they
want the caskets kept out of sight? Who is inspecting
the bodies to know they are intact?
Exhume the bodies!
Exhume the soldiers!

Howie Carr should Resign from The Boston Herald
Donald Rumsfeld ain't the only one with a reason to walk out the door. Pat Purcell and The Boston Herald
are rubbing Howie Carr's nose in the Mike Barnicle situation.
And now the press is yapping about it. See Mark Shneyder's excellent Boston Radio column:
http://commons.somewhere.com/bostonrw/2004/Boston.Radio.Watch.--.05.html
The usually very reserved Boston Phoenix columnist Dan Kennedy even stepped down inside the toxic waste to accurately report:
"But if this is to be a battle of the snakes, my snake is Howie. Scales down." Eeeek. Now that's slime!
As ugly as Mike Barnicle's sins are, has the disgraced ex-Globe
columnist ever blamed "Towel Heads" for the crimes of Timothy McVie? Probably not. Making up stories is hardly as bad as going
on a 50,000 watt station and blaming an entire race for a horror
show that McVie has since been "put down" for like a rabid dog.
Inaccurate reporting is one thing, but blatant racism on the scale of WTKK host Jay Severin wanting to kill Muslims is another. WTKK, by the way, is known in radio circles as WKKK - as in Ku Klux Klan.
It is funny hearing Howie Carr put his foot in his mouth - as when he told one of the biggest stars in radio history - Diana Ross -
that his favorite record by "her" was "Stoned Love." Talk about
rubbing it in someone's face - the Jean Terrell version of The Supremes had four hit records in 1970 while Diana had only two -
though they both hit #1 on the R & B charts - Diana with "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and The Supremes with Terrell singing - Howie's favorite - "Stoned Love." Nothing like hitting the weak
spot of a special guest!
Howie's got the RKO paycheck and he seems entrenched...or maybe after his second marriage the better word is ...embedded...in there. Hey, so Barnicle sleeps with a banker and Howie slept with the chick in the advertising department (who also worked for Jay Severin's radio group...birds of a feather) - leaving the mother of his kids for some gal who was allegedly friends with
Janet E. Jeghelian http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/alsorun.asp?CID=N00000237&cycle=2002
But as Howie Carr turns his rage inward, into depression (to quote Tony Soprano's shrink playing in the background), maybe it is time Howie cut his ties with the Herald?
Anyone with an ounce of integrity (and who already has a safety
net in place) would walk out with their head held high. But you
can bet that Howie Carr won't walk. Integrity ain't in the vocabulary of a man with the worst diction on Boston Radio (this side of Margery Eagen)...stay tuned !

The moron who stole the presidency still hasn't found
